When is the best time to book my maternity photo session?

Most of my clients reach out to book their maternity session around 12 weeks into their pregnancy. I typically schedule sessions around the 30-week mark—it’s the perfect time! As a mama of five and a photographer who has worked with hundreds of expectant moms, I’ve found that around 30 weeks is ideal. You’re not too swollen, you still feel comfortable moving around, and the session flows beautifully.

When do maternity sessions take place?

Maternity sessions are typically scheduled on weekday mornings, starting at 9:30 AM. If your spouse or partner is joining, they can arrive toward the end of the session—this way, they won’t need to take as much time off work. Many of my clients opt for a half-day off when booking a weekday session.

Limited afternoon and weekend slots are available, so if you need one, be sure to book early!
